The study polled 360 c-store shoppers between the ages of 18 to 64.
General Mills found that the top 5 reasons why consumers want to connect with a convenience store is:
- Receiving coupons – 67%
- Gaining information about sales of special deals – 62%
- Updates on products and offerings – 55%
- Seeing what products are offered – 48%
- Locating the nearest store – 47%
Using digital channels more frequently will allow your c-store to build customer loyalty and drive traffic. Consumers love to hear about the relevant deals on gas, hot beverages, fountain drinks, and fresh bakery items. In addition to sharing deals, this approach will allow you to build a close relationship with regular customers.
