U.S. Oil Open

In a quarter of a century the U.S. Oil Open has raised $10.4 million for The U.S. Oil Open Fund for Basic Needs.
The event celebrates a year of fund- and awareness-raising for the fight against poverty in Northeast Wisconsin. U.S. Oil pays for all of the costs of the event and invites community leaders and golf enthusiasts to join us each summer to celebrate our success: supporting non-profit organizations with a proven track record of success in maintaining solid, critical programs that address the root causes of poverty and prevent people in episodic crisis from becoming people of chronic need.
Recipients of grants typically include organizations that provide assistance with basic needs such as job skills, health care, mental health services, and, of course, food, clothing and shelter. Together with our partners, participants and volunteers, we are supporting people from the ground up.

Thank you to 2009 participants and partners!
Your participation in the 2009 U.S. Oil Open has made a tremendous difference. At a time when people in Northeast Wisconsin need us the most, we sent a loud and clear message of hope by setting another fundraising record, raising $1.45 million in one day for basic needs - $200,000 more than we did in 2008!
This year we welcomed 616 golfers to the event…another record! It truly is amazing what can happen when communities come together for a common cause. The 24th annual U.S. Oil Open brought together over 1,200 companies, foundations, and individuals to create a stronger community.

All donations are distributed to the Community Foundations in the Fox Valley, Green Bay and Oshkosh areas, where Advisory Committees made up of experts in grantmaking and basic human needs make decisions about where and how to best invest the funds in non-profit efforts to fight poverty.
The commitment of the J. J. Keller Foundation to again match the grantmaking budgets of the U.S. Oil Open Fund for Basic Needs will generate a combined total of nearly $1.3 million in available grant dollars fiscal year 2010.
