Holiday Pay

The company provides time off with pay on certain holidays.

ELIGIBILITY: Regular full-time and part-time associates.

EFFECTIVE DATE: Full-time Associates - Immediately upon hire.

Part-time Associates - Following the completion of two (2) full consecutive calendar years at 1000 hours worked per year.

COST: The Company pays Holiday pay.  The basis for the day's pay is the same as the guidelines for vacation pay.

BENEFIT: There are six (6) paid holidays:

      January 1                                             Labor Day

      Memorial Day                                    Thanksgiving Day

      July 4                                                     December 25

To be eligible for Holiday pay, an associate must work his or her last regularly scheduled day before and first regularly scheduled day after the holiday, unless one of the following exceptions applies:

ü       The associate's supervisor has approved the absence, in advance.

ü       The associate was on vacation before and/or after the holiday

ü       The associate has a doctor's excuse for a sick day or Family Medical Leave before or after will receive Holiday pay for that holiday.

Persons on layoff or leave of absence (not including Family Medical Leave) will not receive Holiday pay.

When departments need to continue operations, associates may be required to work the holiday.

The six (6) paid scheduled holidays are not counted as hours worked for the purpose of calculating overtime.

Non-exempt part-time associates will receive holiday pay for one fifth of the average number of hours they work in a normal week, rounded to the nearest full hour.  As an example, if they are normally scheduled for 25 hours per week, their holiday pay will be 5 hours, and if they normally work 28 hours per week they will receive 6 hours per holiday.

Exempt part-time associates will receive holiday pay equal to their scheduled hours for holidays that fall on their normally scheduled work days.

TERMINATION: Pay for holidays is not given to anyone who leaves the company for any reason prior to the holiday or is not employed on the next work day after the holiday.
