History
The U.S. Oil/Schmidt Family Foundation, Inc. was founded by Art, Ray and Bill Schmidt on July 29, 1985 as a means to honor the philanthropic legacy of their parents, Albert and Margaret Schmidt, support the communities in which their business, U.S. Oil Co., Inc. operates, and provide on-going assistance to organizations serving the poor and disenfranchised
Albert and Margaret Schmidt raised their eight children in the Fox Valley region of Wisconsin and had a strong history of volunteerism and financially supporting many philanthropic organizations. They built their lives in Kaukauna, Wisconsin and surrounding communities with the hopes of providing their children with a stable home embedded in strong values and traditions. The Schmidt brothers' upbringing gave them a strong foundation on which to build one of the largest family businesses in Wisconsin today.
Today the Foundation's work is carried on by a team of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation members of the Albert & Margaret Schmidt Family and supports a wide variety of efforts to improve and enhance the quality of life for people living in the Fox Valley and Green Bay regions, other communities where U.S. Oil Co., Inc. operates, and around the world.
