VICODEC

Child Sponsorship Program

Ongata Rongai, Kenya


VICODEC (Victory Community Development Center) is a community based project located in Kware, Ongata Rongai, approximately 24 kilometers from Kenya's capital, Nairobi City. The Center focuses its efforts in Kware and Gataka slums, which are characterized by poor sanitation, dilapidated housing, low income with a high rate of unemployment, prostitution, peddling of drugs, illicit brew, and increased rates of HIV infection and AIDS. VICODEC provides the children in these slums with education and nutrition to grow and succeed in spite of these conditions.

    

   

Please take a moment to review the profiles of children who attend VICODEC. These profiles are based on information provided by the social workers who aid these children. Sponsorships cover: 

oSchooling uniforms, fees, books, and tuition

oFeeding program, which is often the child's only reliable daily meal

oBasic Healthcare at the clinic for the child and family

oGuardian resource assistance

 

With VICODEC's assistance, the benefits of your sponsorship will follow the child as they move through the African School System. You will also receive correspondence from your child a few times per year which will help foster a personal connection between you and your child. Your assistance will directly impact the lives of the family you sponsor. You will be able to aid a community where poverty is so prevalent and the needs are so great.

 

 

VICODEC depends on the Family Board's financial support, and each sponsorship will help VICODEC in their effort to become more self-sufficient. Sponsoring a child is an effective way that you can personally help VICODEC and the impoverished communities that benefit from the Center's programs.
